ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m Tobi, a UX Designer and artist based in Durham, NC, who loves turning learning into something
fun, visual, and easy to understand. After 20+ years in healthcare, I saw how confusing information can
be when people most need clarity — which is why I now design products that teach, guide, and support
in a more human way.


My bachelor of fine arts with a concentration in graphic design gives me a strong visual foundation,
and my background as both a healthcare professional and wine educator taught me how to prioritize
projects, communication, public speaking, and how to make complex topics feel approachable—
whether it’s medicine or Malbec.


Recently, I’ve been designing for Flip & Floss (Flip Academy), an EdTech startup focused on financial
literacy for kids. I helped redesign the teacher experience by creating a participation tracker and
gamification metrics flow that make classroom data feel less like “numbers on a screen” and more
like a story teachers can act on.


In my spare time, I love to create homemade bath products in my kitchen. I also enjoy seeing live music,
reading, and painting with acrylics. I love being creative.

At the core of my work is a simple goal: make learning engaging, empowering, and just a little entertaining. When users feel confident and in control, I know I’ve done my job. Looking ahead, I’m focused on mastering thoughtful AI integration, pushing accessibility forward, and practicing design that’s data-informed, strategic, ethical, and user-first.
